I am a foodie. These are my confessions.

In my mind there are two types of eating. The first obviously is simple sustenance. The other is the foundation for connection between lovers, family, friends and strangers who are not yet friends. This is my journey.

סָבָּא

Saba means Grandpa in Hebrew. Abba means Dad. I could be here as Abba but my eldest grandson, Ari knows when Saba is in the kitchen.

The Blog

My thoughts carefully prepared and served.

Jewish food and specifically Jewish comfort food connects us to moments in our lives. It is involved in weekly meals, Shabbat, festive holidays and rituals.

International foods offer a staycation experiment and experience. Italian is my favorite to cook but with a good cookbook and a recipe I can go anywhere.

When you enjoy food hopefully your kids do, too. Watching my children cook and being amazed at their efforts or having my grandson want to help his Saba is as much fun as preparing it yourself.

It didn’t kill anyone.
